Nicola is the founder, president and CEO of Meta, responsible for providing executive leadership to the Company and managing its growth. He has over 20 years of private and public sector experience in the business development management of infrastructure projects throughout GCC area, Subsaharian Africa, North Africa, Asia and est Europe, South America. After having progressed through various leadership roles in Water treatment field in 2015 Nicola decided to operate in renewable and reduced environmental impact areas according to the sustainability needs and as an active participant in Meta's partners efforts.
Committed to revenue growth and client management, Nicola's passion is developing new work and driving strategic initiatives. He builds and maintains strong client relationships by establishing a clear understanding of expectations and maintaining open and sincere communications.
Nicola earned bachelor of environmental engineering from the University of Pavia (Italy).
He has served on the board of directors for Euromec Srl, Emit Srl, EWG, as director of the Aquae Italianae Consortium and board advisor for Water Alliance.
He is co-founder of Water Next Spa and Solaris Smart Fluids Srl.
He was charter member of Rotary San Giorgio (Italy) and member of Rotary New York (USA).
Aldo Somensari joint Meta in 2016 as partner, promoting Italian companies with know-how and technical and economic skills capable of developing activities in the context of large civil, industrial and infrastructural projects.
Since 2019 he has been working full time in Meta sas and Solaris Smart Fluids participated company.
He was CEO and sole shareholder of Unotecnica srl, an outsourcing service company employing 80 resouces operating in the quality control of pharmaceutical bottles glass on behalf of the company Bormioli Rocco SpA of Fidenza (PR).
As director of the "La Favorita" Shopping Center in Mantua, a Consortium between Ipercoop hypermarket, 40 shops Gallery, Brico and Cinecity Multisala he directs the Shopping Center and coordinates the Assembly of consortium members and manages the Board of Directors composed of members representing the UK private fund properties of the Shopping Center.
He was in the Board of Directors at Apam Spa, the Municipal Transport Company of Mantua.
With the role of Commercial officer in the Lombardy area he performed the functions of identifying, programming, implementing and controlling projects, real estate initiatives and construction contracts for civil works of Coopsette scrl - General Construction Company -Italy . He has also held positions as Board Member and / or member of the Technical Committee of many companies or Consortia belonging to Coopsette scrl.
He was co founder partner and Vice President of Sherpa engineering srl, an engineering company specialized in Project Management of shopping malls, roads, large real estate complexes in Italy.
He is former President of Rotary Mantova San Giorgio. Currently a member of Rotary Castelli Mantova. He served in the Rotary International since 2004
Graduated in Civil Engineering - construction section - at the University of Bologna, since 1991 he has been a member of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Mantua at no. 806.
Eng. Riccioni’s professional career developed for a long time at ismes, a company offering applied research and specialized engineering services created in 1951 and controlled by Enel (electricity agency of italy) since 1963.
Under Eng. Riccioni’s leadership, Ismes became a centre of excellence and a reference point in italy and abroad. He has managed and developed important research and engineering projects relating to large plants for the production of electricity (hydroelectric, conventional thermal, thermal- nuclear, geothermal and solar) in Italy and abroad; he also actively participated in feasibility studies and projects in the following sectors: road, railway, offshore, geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical, seismic, etc.
In particular, he overlooked studies, projects, and the safety of a large number of dams in Italy and abroad among others, the italy hydroplant in Brazil, the Yaciretà hydro plant in Argentina, and the three gorges hydro plant on the yellow river in China. He also operated in the transportation sector and aerospace, aeronautical, automobile, and nuclear sector, under his direction important dynamic qualification activities of satellite components for ASI and ESA space programs were developed as well as structural components of Amx and Euro fighter military airplanes and Mcdonnel Douglas civil airplanes, Fiat, Lancia, and Ferrari engines, various Fiat and Mercedes automobiles, the containments for nuclear reactors, as well as civil de- sign of PWR-type (pressurized nuclear power plants), and the qualification of sites for the Montalto di Castro Nuclear Power Plant and the nuclear power plants foreseen by the Italian energy plan in the offshore sector, he has dealt with studies relating to oil rigs in buri and Vega in the Mediterranean sea, the design of a multipurpose artificial island (harbour, energy, industrial) with a surface bigger than one square kilometre, and the Montalto di Castro lng (liquefied natural gas) terminal.
In regards to the special sector relating to the environment and the territory, it must be noted that under his guidance the most important environmental studies in the last ten years were developed concerning electric energy production plants in Italy, environmental studies on the Venice lagoon, the monitoring campaign of the state of the sea along Italian coasts, the design of thermal waste incinerators, important preservation activities of monuments.
As Executive Vice President of Tim, Tecno Idro Meteo, a company controlled by the ministry of research, he developed two important research projects in the field of environmental monitoring regarding respectively water and air.
As president of fee (foundation on environmental education) he promoted three European Union projects on environmental education: the "blue flag campaign of europe"
As Managing Director of Elettroambiente, an Enel company for the realization of thermal plants by solid urban waste for the production of electric energy.
As President of San Marco bioenergie he followed important initiatives relating to the production of electric energy using wood bio- mass.
As board member of Comefin consulting, he followed financing aspects of important tourist, agricultural, and industrial projects in southern Italy.
As President of Bas, the multiutility company owned by the municipality of Bergamo which supplies environmental, water, gas, electric energy, public lighting, and broadband telecommunications services and active in a territory of more than one million inhabitants, he spent most of his activity in reorganizing the urban waste sector of Bergamo territory, with the improvement of the efficiency of the recycled waste collection (up to 50%), the aerobic bio- stabilisation (eco-deco technology) and the new fluid bed boiler plant (11 mwel) to generate electricity from urban waste.
As President of Lombardia gas trader (owned by some of the most im- portant public utilities of the milan region), he followed the optimisation of the natural gas purchase and import from abroad.
as president of emit he followed the realisation of numerouswater treatment plants in Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey , Rumenia, etc.
He gained vast managerial experience when running Ismes, and in other companies where he was director, as well as when he was supervising and directing important engineering projects. furthermore, developed relationships and at institutional, scientific, and entrepreneurial level with the EU the European Commission and its directorate-generals, and with numerous states in Europe, cis, Africa, Central and South America, the middle and far east, Australia, and North America. has also established relationships with leading international financial institutions such as the world bank, the UNDP, the European Bank for development, the European investment bank, the Interamerican development bank, and the Asian development bank .
